From Mangum Family:
"Although we have a Hillsborough mailing address, we are located in Durham County. We are located between Big Horn Drive and South Lowell Road as you travel north on Guess Road. From I-85 travel north on Guess Road for 8.5 miles.
Since our lights are synchronized to the music, you will need to tune your radio to our radio station, the North Pole South Broadcasting Company, which is 90.3 FM. Mangum Family Christmas Lights will begin our 2018 Christmas Lights Show on Friday, November 23. This is our 6th season at 7510 Guess Road, which began in 2013 when we moved to this address. We had been located at 701 Daffodil Lane and began synchronizing the lights with music in 2006.
This year we are featuring at least 53 songs synchronized to over 100,000 lights. The songs will be divided into two groups, with one group in the show every other night. The entire show, from beginning to end, lasts approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. At the conclusion of each show it repeats until the end time for each night. We also have several professional voiceovers, provided by The Demented Elf, which we use to divide the show into segments. The voiceovers provide information on our display and also provide serious messages and sometimes humor.
The times for each night are Sunday thru Thursday 5:30 pm until 10:00 pm and for Friday and Saturday 5:30 pm until 11:00 pm. Beginning on December 20 thru Christmas Day the light show will run until 11:00 pm each night. From December 26 thru December 31 the light show will end at 10:00 pm. December 31 at 10:00 pm will end Mangum Family Christmas Lights for the 2018 Christmas Season. If show times change, or weather causes us to not run the show or end the show early, we will post the information on this page.
Two of the main features of our light show which we really like, and others have indicated they like, are the Cosmic Color Ribbon tree and our singing faces. The singing faces are four deer, a donkey and a pig. The faces sing to twelve of our songs and these songs are divided so half are in each night’s show. The Cosmic Color Ribbon tree, located to the left of the house, is included in the other songs and roughly half appear in each night’s show.
In 2017, we were included in a special video “Triangle Ultimate Christmas Lights Crawl” created by Offline Media and Leith Cars, thanks to Avivah Furman of Offline Media for selecting Mangum Family Christmas Lights to be included in this video.
We ask and encourage visitors to Mangum Family Christmas Lights to post their photos and videos of the show on our Facebook page. We enjoy seeing them!" — Mangum Family
